The release of our second EP naturally meant a project with the same name! Five songs that are a true description of what we like to play, truly quintessentially SBBN. With a wide range of other typical music we had a great evening in the renovated Waalhalla. And we could even watch the Dutch national team after the performance!

Winterdip

February 3rd 2024

At the beginning of the second semester we made a plan; a project about the 4 seasons, the quattro stagioni, and we named it after our favourite. You know what they say: you can blow a cold trumpet warm, but you can't blow a warm one cold.

We also ended up in LUX for the second time, where we could ski onto a really cool stage in the basement! If they knew we were going to play Mariah Carey, we probably wouldn't have been allowed in again, but luckily we kept that a secret...

Vliegschaamte

To continue the travel theme of last show, with “Vliegschaamte” we have pulled out our holiday clothes, put on our rain hats, put our sunglasses on our noses and foreheads, and shaken our tail feathers on the dancefloor.

Reistijd

Just before the end of our lustrum, we had our show Reistijd, where we travelled trough time to play hits from the 50’s till the brand-new 2021.

With another fresh batch of talented musicians, we have extended our horizon with songs like the sultry, slow song Tyrone by Erykah Badu, and the fast train of a drum ‘n bass song Time Traveller by Louis Cole! This latter therefore felt like this project title song.

PROJECT HOUSE

July13th 2022

In July we played our PROJECT HOUSE for a very nice crowd right next to the for us familiar Waal at the venue Strandbar Stek. From Losing It to You &Me to the 15 minute House medleys, for 2 hours a house full of bangers passed the revue. We really enjoyed the music and our wonderful audience!

Groove Through the Roof

On March 5th we once again made Waalhalla unsafe by quite imprudently blowing the roof off with music from Cory Wong, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and others in the project "Groove Through the Roof"!

A long time not being able to perform due to the coronavirus pandemic made for a truly explosive show because of all the bottled hype!

Internetjazz

January 31st 2020

On January 31st it was time for Internetjazz! After hanging the walls of Waalhalla with our favourite memes, we paid a tribute to the internet era with the music of Snarky Puppy, Jacob Mann and Louis Cole! We did this in cooperation with the soloist Jeroen Verberne on trombone!

SBBN Invites Martin Fondse

During our sixth project we did our first collaboration with an professional artist. Together with pianist, composer, vibrandoneonist and arranger Martin Fondse we put up a very jazzy performance in Brebl. For us a very nice first experience with an artist and certainly not our last!

De Grote Verbouwing

January 11th 2019

We started 2019 well with “De grote verbouwing” in an sold out Brebl. In this project we gave well known songs a new sound. In addition to this new songs were composed for this occasion by Willem de Wit and Berend van Deelen!

SBBN + CMC: Sylva

June 22nd & 23rd 2018

This project saw the start of our collaboration with CMC, the Nijmeegse student orchestra. Together with a large part of that orchestra, we gave two sold out concerts in Brebl. In this we played the album Sylva (Snarky Puppy & Metropole Orkest), followed by a festive second set!

SBBN + FJC: Hardkoor!

February 2nd 2018

Our very first collaboration was with the (former) Fontys Jazz Choir. During the evening we played by turns songs and did also some songs together. It was furthermore our first performance in theaterhall C.

SBBN Gaat Hard!

As a sequel to our first gig, we put our right foot down and gave even more gas during this show! With the addition of a fluitist and a singer with this show we really made an lasting impression.

Hyped

January 20th 2017

Our very first show was very memorable. At the cultuurcafé we showed what the SBBN is and what we have accomplished in half a year. It was for us a very successful show that certainly lived up to its name: HYPED!
