About the SBBN

Do you like fantastic fusion, great chops and licks, the most badass bass lines and are you musically inclined? Then the Student BigBand Nijmegen is the place to be! As a 20-piece band we rehearse every Monday, but we also play at fun activities, galas, student parties, festivals and official events, including those of the Radboud University of Nijmegen. Every six months we have a new project to work towards during rehearsals, sometimes in collaboration with other artists like Jeroen Verberne and Martin Fondse. And in the meantime we also like to make time for get-togethers, bowling tournaments, silent disco's and other activities while enjoying one or more golden yellow brews and a bowl of steaming nachos with chili sauce and cheese. Check out our Insta or Facebook pages for an impression of these activities! We are also certainly not averse to playing at festivals, galas or other events. For example, we have been performing at the intro festival of the Radboud University for three years now, we have had the pleasure to play at Music Meeting several times and we played at the Nest-festival in the Goffertpark. To broaden our horizons, we've even toured abroad twice already! In 2019 in Berlin together with the Nijmegen student orchestra and at the end of 2022 in the beautiful city of Prague.
