Can I join the SBBN?

The SBBN is, of course, a big band made up of students. Because of this, we always have a large circulation of members. This means that we are often looking for new enthusiastic and talented musicians! A current list of open positions can be found on this page, and for the most current updates, keep an eye on our Facebook or Instagram.

Are you an enthusiastic student at the HAN or Radboud University and looking for a new musical challenge in Nijmegen? Then sign up with us! If there are no vacancies for your instrument at the moment, you can apply anyway and we will contact you as soon as a spot opens up! Currently we have vacancies for (Lead-) Trumpet, Tenor Saxophone and (Bass-)Trombone

Okay, But what’s in it for me?

As a member, you have the choice of playing for an unspecified period of time, or participating in a single project. Each semester we have one project with a performance in January/February and June/July respectively. Rehearsals are on the campus of Nijmegen: every Monday from 19:00-21:45 you can find us in the Berchmanianum building at Houtlaan 4. Here we go full blast with challenging music and lots of fun.

Of course, as we are a student association as well, we also make room for social activities, such as our weekly after-rehearsal-get-togethers, frequent gatherings courtesy of our event commission, and the legendary rehearsal weekends!

Can i join for a rehearsal first?

Every six months (in September and February) we have an open rehearsal where you can come and play without any obligation.
